On a Futon!
Style
Futons became popular in Australia in the early seventies where they offered a natural alternative to an often cumbersome and not so comfortable innerspring or fibre core mattress The Japanese have used Futons for centuries. Traditionally they are rolled out on the floor on tatami mats and rolled up and stored during the day when the room is used for other purposes. In Western and European cultures, we usually have a permanent bedroom in which the Futon and base become an integral part of the decor of the room.
Clean, elegant, simple. Uncluttered and balanced design.
The choice is yours
The Futon can be used straight on the floor, but we recommend that it be used on a slatted timber base to allow air to circulate underneath and for it to remain in a healthy condition. There are a number of timber bases that can be used for permanent beds, ranging from budget items, to more modern designs. We use only solid timber and quality plywood in our entire range of beds and furniture.
